Hailing from Hangzhou, China, the Pritzker Architecture Prize winners Wang Shu und Lu Wenyu have emphasised the remarkable location of this BUS:STOP with clear views in both directions. By installing a camera obscura, a conical room that opens out onto the road and frames the line of vision towards the mountains via a rear window, they have created a space that inspires focused perception of the landscape – which plays a more important role than the building itself in all their projects.
