The centre of Langenegg has been considerably upgraded through the construction of new public and semi-public buildings in recent decades. This process kicked off in 2004 with the addition of a kindergarten and community cafe by the firm Fink Thurnher Architekten. The kindergarten combines with the Bregenzerwald building located opposite to form a kind of gateway to the new village centre, with a short descent leading to the nearby school. Slightly further along the main road is the municipal office, renovated in 2008, which stands face to face with the municipal centre and cafe. The municipality also oversaw the construction of the supermarket in 2008 and leased it to a local operator. The most recent arrival is the nursery designed by the firm Hein Architekten.
