Dating back to the 1960s, this popular pool is nestled amongst a cluster of old trees directly alongside the busy Stadtstrasse road. Despite its location in the heart of the city, the structure gives visitors the impression of being in a park. While the towering roof featuring a large glass front has been retained from the original design, the extension is considerably less tall but nevertheless boasts a fully transparent exterior. The new facade also lends a uniform appearance to all parts of the facility. A balcony has been added to connect the old and new structures: this serves as a quiet zone in everyday use and is repurposed as a spectator area during competitions. Finally, the north section has been expanded to accommodate a peaceful sauna zone with five atria.
