From the centre of Schröcken, take the wide gravel road up to Auenfeld. Via the Auenfeldsattel it goes now towards Oberlech. At the plot Egg it goes past, continue straight ahead uphill through the forest and soon over a mountain meadow until you meet the first houses of Oberlech. At the bus stop "Schlössle" turn right and continue cycling uphill to the lookout point "Tannegg" incl. barbecue. From here, follow the gravelled alpine path on the left uphill past the Grubenalpe. It goes permanently uphill to the Kriegeralpe. After a refreshing stop, it goes a short distance uphill to the reservoir and the stone wall. Here you can make a detour on the left up the goods path to the mountain station of the Kriegerhornbahn and the summit cross of the Kriegerhorn (2,173 m). All others drive past the reservoir on the right and follow the goods road downhill, first via Bergmähder and later along the Zug Tobel until you meet the asphalted toll road. Here you turn left into the centre of Zug and continue back to Schröcken again along the same route.
The tour can also be started by Warth. Here it goes over the Alte Salzstraße to the Hochtannbergpass and via the Salobersattel you get to the Auenfeld and further, as described above.
