The Walser Trail is part of the Walser Trail Challenge. This is the alternative route that can be used by the organizer for the first half of the Walser Ultra Trail in bad weather.
The start of the UltraTrails is in Riezlern. From here it goes over Egg and Wäldele. If the alternative route comes into force, it goes to Auenhütte and a piece of direction Melköde. Continue on a short piece of gravel road to the Upper Walmendinger Alpe and continue to Walmendingerhorn. Over the Lüchlealpe and the Stierhofalpen in direction Grünhorn. The trail from the Grünhorn to the Starzeljoch is exposed. In the Zick Zack Trail it goes down into the Starzeltal (Turatal) and on a dirt road in the village Baad. From here the route runs like the Walser Trail. Here it goes to the original route
